Got nothing to do??Become Youtube Editor.
Got no job to do and surfing around for something creative that will kill time??.Then
Youtube is the place to be.Become Youtube(guest)editor and take charge of choosing videos to display on the featured videos list which is usually done by Youtube themselves. Before they hand over the job, you'll have to impress them with a sample list of some of the original videos you'd place on the home page if you were in charge. If Youtube likes it they'll contact you to flesh out your selections and plan the dates for your home page takeover. You should also be prepared to make a video statement to go along with your picks. So if you believe in glory for a day,go for it.

How to market using Youtube?Learn Youtube Marketing From Eros Entertainment
I accidentally happened to notice a familiar name below a video while surfing through
Youtube. The video submitter's name put me in perplexion first but later it made complete sense to me.The name was 'Eros Entertainment',a familiar name for movie buffs here in India. They aren't the present leader in their industry but they soon will become because the marketing strategies they are using is worth appreciation. This is what they have done.As any serious video company will have they have their list of movies with them.Eros provide their hit videos on Youtube. They display their website url on these videos and this way they promote their website. This is not it.They are not upto making PPC money from Adsense. They are upto serious stuff. They are selling their product every single way possible completely utilizing the power of Web(or Web2.0).They are providing paid download facility for everything they have acquired licence to sell like mp3 and mobile content. What fascinates me completely is that this promotion technique which is underlooked by industry tycoons like Fox and ABC is been put to good use by this company.
How bloggers and webmasters can use this technique?
If you're a blogger or a webmaster trying hard to promote your site then never undermine the power of Youtube.Millions of people come this way everyday for something of their interest. What you can do is decide an attractive topic targeting niche audience.Find a suitable subject and make a screencast of it.You can use a free software Camstudio for the job.But if you are ready to pay some money for a better product go for Techsmith's Camtasia Recorder.Don't forget to edit the cast and put your site url where ever possible.Wild promotion is totally fine and is rewarding and often justified at the end.The result is true success and a lasting space in the viewer's subconcious mind. And make sure you choose a clear and attracive title and tag it well so that people land on your video quite often.Use some youtube promotion techniques to increase the view count which will get you in youtube's popular pages and if you're lucky enough who knows you'll get to youtube's homepage.Feel like going too far.I felt like this weeks before i got 'Digged' when i was planning a Diggbait but after getting Digged i knew that those who have a vision always succeed no matter what.So go for it.And stay in touch for more techniques.Subscibe to Blogger Whale if you liked this post.

How to sell your Artwork online?
Are you an artist? Then you can make 10 times what i make(i make a decent income) from Google adsense and that too with ease provided you're ready to put your masterpieces on sale.Artworks are usually on high demand. If you hit the right string at the right time, you can score some good money. So if you're planning to do it here's some places that may help you.
1.Artflock:Artflock.com makes entrepreneur part of an artist's job easy.Browse art,buy art and sell art here.Free sign up is available for artists but a premium account is worth it as it gives you features like Highlight Listing,List Stockists,Advanced Watermarking,Display Contact Details,Statistics about your works popularity etc. which is not included in the free account.
2.E-bay:This is one of the first recommendation ebay" height="59" width="123">anyone will give you if you ask them "Where to sell your art work?".But i listed Artflock first because it will give your work a more targeted audience.Ebay's privilege of being the most busiest online market can guarantee you some good exposure.
3.Esnips:As i mentioned in the last post enips is gaining popularity. Why not use it to give your work some exposure. They have a 5gb upload limit. So don't worry, you can upload lots of scanned materials.
Some Quick Tips
----------------------
1.Get a paypal account before you join these virtual museums. Most of them have a list of trusted transaction handlers and Paypal is a good option.
2.Decide the price of your work in advance because you'll have to specify it everywhere your art goes.
3.Use all the services simultaneously and wait.Simultaneous presence will give you and your work a brand-like presence and people will remember you when they think of buying a work.

Esnips will beat Scribd in archiving pirated E-books
Scribd was a publisher's nightmare turned into reality. But if you're a publisher then
get ready for more shocks as E-snips is all set to beat Scribd in providing a platform for sharing pirated e-books.Unlike Scribd, esnips is a 'upload&share' site like rapidshare. With the help of their search feature i was able to track 'a well tagged'list of 1000s of ebooks. It's getting popular very fast and already has a good user base to spread it's name. And one more thing to assure that this medium of piracy will be growing is that it's been indexed by search engines pretty well.Although it's not what esnips have intented to be.Enips has been performing on the side as an excellent platform for artists and webmasters to promote and sell their content.Let's see where it goes.
For everything else there's a MasterCard
My friend send me this pic.A second look gave me a hillarious point of view.Do you get it?No,Look closer.

How to welcome the 'Digg Effect'?
Knowledge of what will be coming gives one a huge deal of advantage as it lets one utilize the forecoming fortune wisely. As far as bloggers are concerned getting on digg frontpage is a huge events as it follows loads of traffic and link love.Apart from SEO's nowadays many bloggers are into creating those diggable posts or what is called digg baiting. While SEO's do it for higher PRs and better positioning in search results, blogger are aiming at higher Technorati ranks,Feed subscribers and Blogrolls. And why not? Many bloggers became A-listers when their articles got digged 3 or 4 times. As many may argue Digg-baiting may not bring targeted traffic. But as from my experience a good amount of visitors from Digg look further for content in your blog and many return for updates. And further more a little bit optimization at the digg period can bring some monetary benefits too. Here are a few things you can do for welcoming the 'Digg effect'.
1)Pay few more bucks for bandwidth:You may have to satisfy as high as 6000 connections per second on the first day at digg.So be prepared.
2)Optimize your ads:Though digger's are said to adblind, good placement of ads can score some clicks. The best positions being just after the title and after the posts.
3)Get the buttons:Once you see that your post is slowly getting popular, make it easy for the readers to share your stuff.Get buttons to other bookmarking sites or add some feedflares if you use Feedburner. This will help you get some bonus traffic.
4)Put your best links forward:After digging the story people will starting looking for more. You should catch their eyes to your best posts and who knows they might digg those stories too.
5)Uploading images:If your posts contains images as a central part don't upload it on sites that has bandwidth limit like Imageshack.Instead upload it on Flickr or Google pages.
6)Don't submit the digged post to other bookmarking sites yourself:Digg frontpage
gives you guaranteed exposure to top users of other top bookmarking sites like
Reddit and del.icio.us.When these top users submit your story it has a better chance
of getting popular because these top users will have a good community base their with
friends who'll make the story popular by just looking at the submitter's name.

Google will control the economic fuel of the Internet:Microsoft
After loosing to Google in the bid for Double click,Microsoft is running like mad shooting bullets one after other on Google.
"By putting together a single company that will control virtually the entire market. Google will control the economic fuel of the Internet," said Brad Smith, general counsel for Microsoft. The statement says it all. After trying too hard to prevent the takeover Microsoft is desperate because they know, after this deal there's no look back for Google because the $3.1 billion acquisition, announced late Friday, would combine the largest providers of online advertising and make one giant online money maker which will propel millions or should i say a vast majority of websites and blogs and virtually the internet.
DoubleClick utilizes a technology that remembers sites a user visits and serves up relevant ads; Google keeps data about searches conducted on its site.Micrsoft points this as a privacy concern.Smith also added that Google would have "an unprecedented degree" of personal information about a person's activity on the Internet. My take is that Google is already a new age Bigbrother and no one seems to care about the vast information it's gathering everyday. So the privacy concerns is for vain dear Smith. The only group that'll have a problem is Microsoft.

Getting Linked By LifeHacker VS Getting On The Frontpage Of del.icio.us
Lifehacker is one of the most popular blogs on the blogosphere and ranks 15 at Technorati at the time i am writing this post. And del.icio.us is one of the most sorted out social news site and will rank after Digg and Reddit if ranked according to traffic.I had the luxury of getting linked by Lifehacker.com and exposure on the del.icio.us frontpage simultaneously through my article on Greasemonkey scripts.
I am not a Greasemonkey lover as Lifehacker puts it,but inbound links are always welcome. If Gina Trapani is reading this,Thanks for linking in.
The two above mentioned events brought some quality traffic to Blogger Whale. The story was posted on del.icio.us by a top user,so it made it to the popular list in no time and stayed there for about 23hrs.As i'm writing this the story has 179saves counted. That's not a big number at del.icio.us but good enough for a technical item labelled under java.
Traffic from del.icio.us
---------------------------------------
del.icio.us didn't bring any server killing traffic which would have happened in the case of digg mainly because once your story is out of the frontpage readers will have to discover your story from the tags[No page2,page3..].So the traffic is only till other stories overtake yours and push you out of the frontpage. And one thing i noticed is that lot of people track del.icio.us frontpage by Googling "*/popular".???
Traffic from Lifehacker
----------------------------------------
Lifehacker sent steady and quality traffic for 2days.After that the traffic declined but kept coming in small quantities.Traffic from Lifehacker was much higher than from del.icio.us.May be a bit more time on the del.icio.us frontpage would have done the job.
Traffic Analysis
-----------------------------------------
As you can see from the 'visit by source chart' del.icio.us underperformed. The
story also made it to the frontpage of dzone so they send some good traffic too.
Demography of visitors
-----------------------------------------
As it is clear from the chart english speakers are not the only group.Though they are
much bigger in number the rest of the demography sum up to be a huge number. So be prepared embed some translating service like Google Translate on your blog.
Browser
-----------------------------
Since the article was on Greasemonkey Firefox users were the most interested group.
Technorati Links:Some 20 ought fresh links showed up on Technorati after the post.
Feed Subscribers:Some 31 new subscribers joined Blogger Whale.

Orkut starts topic search.
Orkut is closing in to become a 'no secrecy online community'.Atleast that's what we can predict after orkut launced its latest feature 'Topic search'.Now one can go beyond communities and users while searching and reach any topic discussed in any community.
So what does this mean. This means digging into private conversations is easier and less sweaty than ever. But on the brighter side this will help Orkut squad to remove piracy from Orkut and stop explicit content discussions and trace back to the sources. But i don't think they have anything such idea in mind.[Lots of adult communities are still very much alive in Orkut].God save orkut.

The Mybloglog-Adsense disagreement
I was skimming around Mybloglog stats for Blogger Whale for March27 when my eyes hung
up on the 'What users clicked' box.It showed that 5 readers clicked on the adsense ads i display on Blogger Whale.Call that 'Blogger syndrome' or 'Blogger instinct' i signed in to my adsense account in a flash. To my surprise,i discovered that those clicks hadn't got counted on Adsense. As an immediate response i quickly pounced on my G-mail and typed a message to adsense asking explanation. This is what i got as a reply.
"I understand that you are concerned about a potential discrepancy between
your own website tracking reports and the statistics reported within your
AdSense account. We count impressions only when the AdSense ad code is
executed by a user's browser. Therefore, there are several factors that
would cause the impressions you register to differ from the impressions
listed in your Google AdSense account. Instances that wouldn't execute the
ad code include:
· Other spiders, robots, crawlers from other search engines
· Browsers that don't have JavaScript enabled or don't support JavaScript
· Browsers that don't support the iframe tag
· Programs that people may have written to grab website content"
-Adsense team
The reasons for the 'uncounted clicks' were obvious and i wouldn't have cared to mail them if i didn't loose my senses after browsing through my own Mybloglog stats, thanks to Mybloglog for blinding me for half-an-hour.My dear readers don't get blinded.

8 killer ways to promote your Youtube,Metacafe videos
Millions of videos are uploaded at Youtube and many similar video sharing sites like metacafe and dailymotion every single day.The driving force behind most submissions being 'that never ending desire for instant fame'.But only a few make it to the top page and the rest dissappear in the midst of junk.Since there is no specific voting system other than that traditional 'star rating',the more number of views your video gets the more easy it gets to put the video in a status of perpetual popularity. So here are a few ways to give your videos that initial pitch assuming you've a good video in hand.
1.Submit it to Digg's video section.Tons of people check out this section and if you get digged, then it will skyrocket the number of views. And the competition in this section is comparitively less compared to the other sections.
Quick tip:Make sure you write eye-catchy and tempting headlines which urge them to check out the video.
2.Stumble the video.Tell your friends to stumble the video.Send your video to 5 or 6 blogs to review.Getting on the frontpage of stumbleupon will have somewhat the same effect of getting on the frontpage of digg.
3.Post to video discussion boards and forums.Ask for feedback and request them to stumble it.
4.Join communities with fat memberships in social networking sites like Myspace and Facebook.Put links to your video and ask for feedback.
Quick tip:Be fair.Don't spam.Don't market yourself desperately.
5.Use social bookmarking sites for giving more exposure.
6.Find bloggers blogging on subject related to your video. That is if your video is on technology you can find some technology blogger.Make sure that the bloggers you choose have considerable followership. You can find them by searching Technorati blog directory or Google blog search.Mail them you video. If they like your video they will link to it.The readers of such blogs will help circulation of your video.
7.Submit your video to Video bomb.Video bomb is a place where people
share best online videos they find.
8.Tag smartly.Tag enough.People will discover your videos automatically if you've smartly tagged.Be general and clear about the video while tagging.Utilize the tag limit.More the tags the more is the chance of your video getting discovered.

How Google double fooled you?
Google celebrated this April 1st in a grant way by fooling millions and that too for two times in a single day.First they offered their broadband service at the Google.com homepage and guess what, the service was free.Happy surfers will click 'Get started' only for feeling shamed.
The second one was a smarter one.'The Gmail Paper'.This is how they explained Gmail paper."Everyone loves Gmail. But not everyone loves email, or the digital era. What ever happened to stamps, filing cabinets, and the mailman? Well, you asked for it, and it’s here. We’re bringing it back."Wow.Happy Gmail-ers will sign in for feeling embarassed again.
